LO: print using collagraph

Print-making is thought to have originated in China after the invention of paper in the 2nd century AD.

Today's activity features a special kind of print-making called collagraphy, where flat materials are layered and glued onto a base, then painted and used to create a final finished print.

We began by creating cardboard printing plates. We collaged pieces of cardboard and string with PVA glue to our plates.

We then left overnight to dry.

Next, we applied ink to our cardboard plates using mini-brayers.

Lastly, we simply pressed the inked cardboard plate onto a large piece of black cardboard  and rubbed carefully with our hands to form a group collaboration piece of artwork!
